In “Her Sweet Weight on My Heart a Night” by Emily Dickinson, the speaker describes the emotional weight another person can have on us. Think about someone who has left a lasting impact on your life. In what ways do you still carry that person with you?

somebody that left a lasting impact on my life would be my dad. I carry his name with me wherever I go, his laugh, his smile, his curls, his personality. All of it I bring with me, because he meant so much to me. I'll continue to bring it because I'm proud of what he shaped me to become.  in class we worked on our projects and switched to doing a common lit. the poem was nice, a little hard to decipher, but still nice once I understood what it meant. I liked this question as a blog post, really nice to think about these things.

In “Heart, We Will Forget Him!” by Emily Dickinson, the speaker shows a conflict between what we think and what we feel. Describe a time when your heart and your mind seemed to want two different things. Which one did you listen to, and why?

once, I was conflicted to go to a concert because of the money. My heart told me to go,m yet my mind knew I should've saved. In the end, I followed my heart and went, pledging to make the money back soon.  in class, we read a poem about heartbreak and moving on, whilst starting on a mini project.  I think the poem was nice, and I felt as If I could relate to it since I have also been through something similar.

In Emily Dickinson’s “I Felt a Funeral, in My Brain,” the speaker experiences a mind that seems to work against her. Sometimes our own thoughts can make a situation feel worse than it actually is. Describe a time when overthinking, worrying, or doubting yourself affected the way you handled a situation. What did you learn from the experience?

during the second week of school, I doubted my ability to edit in my AV tech class. this led me to give up my entry into making the news intro. seeing all the other entries, I'm sure I could've won, but I didn't because I doubted myself. since then, I learned I shouldn't be afraid to fail. in class, we analyzed a poem called "I felt a funeral in my brain" by Emily Dickinson.  reading the poem made me realize how much I need to pay attention to symbolism in poems.

Aug 21: Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

one thing that I'd say is different about me from other people is my realism. I try to be optimistic about things, but most of the time I come off as a negative guy to most people because I say what I think is true. I come off very blunt, and I think that makes me different when a lot of people sugarcoat most of their ideas. in class we went over a poem and answered some questions about ourselves that connected to it. the class made me realize I have a lot to think about regarding my individuality. I feel different from people, but that could just be my opinion, so I need to think about it harder.

Aug 20: Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

an adventure I would like to go on would be a trip to mexico and experience what my parents life was like. after that, I'd like to go to Europe and explore old ruins and grass plains. I'd end it off with a trip to Japan or any Asian country, and enjoy my time in a new world. all of this would lead me back home where I might just go backpacking across the south or the west coast. in class, we presented our posters.  I think mine was quick, yet sufficient, and seeing other peoples stories was interesting. I enjoyed most of them, and I'm really proud of mine.

What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

the most creative I've made would probably have to be a film I made in my second year of AV tech. It was a film about a knight hunting a demon. The costumes were pretty good, and the plot was alright enough to keep people captivated while still being a silent film. I'm pretty proud of it, but I know I can do better this year. in class we continued our poster project, and I'm almost done. All that is left for me to do is to do the theme and add a few more decorations, but overall it looks pretty good.

Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

my burning questions about life: 1. where does the mind come from? 2. is there anything after this life? August 17, in class we started on our origin myth poster. I got pretty far with it but I realized some things about my myth. I realized that I was really sleepy when I made it because some parts of it sounds like I went crazy. I'm still content with what I made, and I can only hope to make my poster as creative as the story is.
